RK Nagar, Nov 16 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa took stock of the situation at her constituency RK Nagar on Monday post heavy rainfall in many areas of Tamil Nadu. Incessant rains and heavy winds have been battering the state for the last few days. There have been reports of water-logging at various places. Schools and colleges have been shut down as a result of the inclement weather. So far, 60 people have died because of the heavy downpour. Fishermen have been advised not to venture out to sea along and off north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and adjoining Pudukkottai and Ramanathapuram districts of south Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, schools and colleges in Chennai will remain closed tomorrow due to heavy rains.
