Key member of banned militant outfit arrested in Jharkhand

Pakur, April 20 (ANI): A key member of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), which was allegedly involved in the Burdwan blasts last year, was arrested in Pakur district of Jharkhand. Two militants suspected to be members of JMB were killed in an explosion inside a house in West Bengal’s Burdwan district while building homemade bombs on October 02, 2014. Superintendent of Police (SP) Anup Birthare, said that the arrested JMB member had been identified as Ibrahim Sheikh. The police recovered a revolver, six bullets, four crude bombs and a mobile memory card containing Jihadi literature from Sheikh. Sheikh is a close aide of JMB’s Burdwan module commander, Sheikh Rehmatullah alias Sajid. Sheikh was entrusted with the job of bringing in new members to the outfit, said police.
