Lalmatia mine collapse: Death toll reaches 7

Godda, Jharkhand, Dec 30 (ANI): At least seven people have been killed in the mine collapse case in Jharkhand’s Lalmatia on Friday. The death toll is expected to increase as more than 50 people have been trapped. The accident took place on late Thursday night when over 50 workers of a private company were trapped under the debris. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to state Chief Minister Raghubar Das upon the issue. Das, who is closely monitoring the situation, announced Rs. 2 lakhs compensation to the families of the deceased and Rs. 25,000 for the injured people.
