STORY: Leicester City coach Claudio Ranieri on Tuesday (September 13) called on his players to keep their cool, as the Premier League champions are set to encounter Belgian champion Bruges in their Champions League debut.

Ranieri said his squad had to treat its more experienced opponents with respect, but adding that the Foxes were ready to add another chapter to last season’s success story.

“Of course, we want to show our best. Our course, our desire to win but we have to stay calm with a lot of respect for everybody, everybody. Because the group… Some people say: ‘Leicester can win the group. Hey, calm! There is Bruges, (which has) a lot of experience. Porto (has) a lot of experience. Copenhagen has a lot of experience. Yes, Leicester won the Premier League, it’s fantastic but it’s behind (us). Now, in a new season, we want to write something good,” Ranieri told a news conference a day ahead of the match.

The club travelled to Belgium to take on Club Brugge at the Jan Breydel Stadium in their opening group G fixture.

In the Premier League, Leicester remain on four points from four matches after the club’s defeat at Liverpool, after what has been a lacklustre start to their 2016/17 Premier League campaign.
