Lochte’s legal woes persist

U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte may have apologized for his so-called “exaggerated” story about being robbed at gunpoint at the Rio Games…

But the legal fallout is far from over.

Brazilian police are now recommending Lochte be charged with falsely reporting a crime.

And he may be summoned to Brazil to testify as part of the investigation.

The U.S. State Department says it’s aware of the reports but declined to comment over “privacy considerations.”

Lochte’s fabricated claims of being held at gunpoint with three of his teammates dominated news coverage of South America’s first Olympics…

Angering locals and prompting the 12-time Olympic medalist to lose major sponsorship deals.
