Maharashtra brings water from its rivers for Shivaji memorial bhoomipujan
Thane, Maharashtra, Dec 23 (ANI): Hundreds of followers of Maratha king Shivaji took out massive procession carrying water from rivers across Maharashtra for the construction of a huge statue of the former. Water, soil and stones brought by the people will be used for ‘jal-pujan’ before the construction begins. The memorial, to be constructed mid-sea nearby Nariman Point, is believed to be the world’s tallest at 210 metres. A library, auditorium and aquarium will also be built in memory of the Maratha ruler.
