Surveillance video released by police shows the moment a man was thrown into the air during a hit-and-run in Brighton, on England’s south coast on January 14. He survived his injuries.
Sussex Police said in a statement the white Fiat 500 was driving in the Kemptown area of Brighton, close to the seaside and Brighton Pier at 1530GMT when the incident happened.
Footage showed the 53-year-old man crossing the road near a junction when the car hit him at speed, catapulting him into the air.
He landed far down the road and was shown lying still on the ground as the FIAT drove off.
Sussex Police said the man suffered head injuries. He was taken to hospital but is now recovering at home.
The car was located but the driver has not yet been found. Police have appealed for witnesses.
