Manipur Bandh called on May 22, 2015 against Govt’s Silence over Encroachment

Imphal: A 24 hour Manipur Bandh has been called by Mao Council on May 22 (Friday) in order to draw the State Government’s attention towards the the alleged encroachment by the Southern Angami People’s Organisation at Koziirii and Dzuko areas of Senapati district. Essential services like Hospital, Ambulances would be exempted from the impact of Bandh.

According to a report in E-Pao.net, L Ephriiwo, information and publicity secretary of Mao Council condemned the state government’s silence over the encroachment. He said that it was regrettable that the State Govt is still silent over the matter although it is the duty of the Govt to safeguard the territorial integrity of the State.

The Mao Council has appealed the people of Entire Manipur to extend cooperation to the bandh.
