Meteorological department warns of heat wave in Gujarat
Ahmedabad/Kanpur, April 22 (ANI): The meteorological department of Gujarat state warned of intense heat waves in the region after the mercury crossed 42-degree Celsius mark. There has been sharp rise in temperature in Gujarat with the maximum temperature hitting 45 degree Celsius in some places. People could be seen with their faces covered in a bid to protect themselves from the scorching sun while walking on the roads. Director of the meteorological department, Jayant Sarkar, urged people not to venture out in the afternoon as they could be hit by heat stroke. Sarkar said there was no possibility of rain and temperatures could rise further.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature recorded in Kanpur city was 42 degree Celsius on Tuesday, making it difficult for people to step out.
