In the scorching heat of Delhi in May at the Indian Grand Prix, Mohammad Anas had set a new national record of 45.32 seconds in the 400 metres. However, he failed to go near his best timing at the IAAF Athletic Championship in London, where he finished fourth in the 400 metres heat with the timing of 45.98 seconds.
