Muslims around India celebrate Eid al-Adha

Lucknow/ Siliguri, Sep 13 (ANI): Muslims all over the nation celebrated the Eid al-Adha, one of the two most important festivals of the Islamic calendar. Eid-ul – Adha prayers were being offered at Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri and joint Shia-Sunni namaz was held in Imambara on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Adha, also known as Bakrid is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar. As per the religious belief, Eid ul Adha is celebrated on the day when Prophet Abraham sacrifice his son, but God asked to offer an animal instead. So, he sacrificed a goat.
