Need to bring Mumbai terror attack culprits to justice, says US senior official
New Delhi, April 30 (ANI): The United States Department of State Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Desai Biswal, said that Washington shared New Delhi’s concern over the release of mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, and that there was a need to bring those responsible to justice. Ten gunmen infiltrated the city by boat and spent three days spraying bullets and throwing grenades around city landmarks, killing 166 people. On April 10, a Pakistani court freed Lakhvi, leader of a Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, on bail. Biswal said the US had told Pakistan not to release Lakhvi.
