Nitish, Akhilesh assure support to those affected by Earthquake

New Delhi/ Lucknow, April 25 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said that information is being collected over the damage caused by the earthquake and that all the officials are on the field. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that administration has been asked to be alert and provide help to the people everywhere. He also announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakhs to the families of the deceased and Rs 20,000 for those injured. Massive tremors were felt in the national capital and throughout North India that lasted between 30 seconds to over four minutes. According to reports, the epicentre of the tremors was said to be in Pokhra, Nepal, with the European Mediterranean Seismological Center stating that the earthquake measured 7.4 on the Richter scale.
