One gravely wounded in North Carolina unrest
Looting in Charlotte, North Carolina in the aftermath of a recent fatal shooting of a black man by police.
Officials say at least one person was gravely wounded in this second night of unrest, where rubber bullets and tear gas canisters flew at demonstrators.
Protesters hurled fireworks at police.
Police say 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott, whose shooting death sparked a new wave of protest against police tactics, had refused their orders to drop a handgun when he was gunned down.
It’s an account his family denies.
With demonstrators and riot police growing in number and state of emergency declared, the unrest may have only begun.
