One NDFB(S) militant arrested by Bengaluru police, interrogation underway: MN Reddi

Bengaluru, Jan 27 (ANI): The police in Bengaluru arrested another wanted militant belonging to the notorious tribal militant outfit, National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB). The ultra has been identified as Sanju Bordoloi alias Shibigiri. NDFB is a militant group which has been fighting for a separate state for ethnic Bodos in Assam. Bengaluru Police Commissioner MN Reddi said that Bordoloi was nabbed following specific tip-off. Reddi further said that Bordoloi was being questioned about his associates – if any- in the city. He is wanted in two cases by the Assam police and in a case by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Bordoloi fled Assam after coordinated attacks on tea plantation workers and their families in the last week of December 2014. At least 80 people were killed in the massacre. Reddi added that the city police was waiting to hand the arrested ultra over to Assam police.
