Pakistan and Iran vow to combat terrorism together

Islamabad, Oct 30 (ANI): Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Secretary Supreme National Security Council of Iran, who is on a two-days’ official visit to Pakistan, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s house. PM Office sources said Sharif told Shamkhani that Pakistan and Iran are brotherly countries and share deep historic and cultural ties. “He added that Chabahar and Gawadar ports shall be sister ports and their operational activity shall complement each other,” a statement from the PM Office said. Shamkhani, lauding Pakistan’s efforts towards the fight against terrorism, said that terrorism has no boundaries and it is a common enemy of both the countries. Later, Shamkhani called on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan along with his delegation. “Our relationship, said the Interior Minister, draws its strength from our shared values, commonality of faith, shared borders and most importantly our shared concerns regarding regional peace, stability and development,” the statement said.
