Peru hit by wildfires
A wildfire ripped through the outskirts the small Andean city of Quillabamba, where residents took firefighting measures to try to put out the blaze into their own hands.
The fire has reportedly destroyed more than 200 hectares of crops as well as vast areas that were part of a reforestation project.
This comes as South American nation grapples with large wildfires in the Peruvian Amazon, which have claimed some 20,000 hectares of rainforest.
