New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off the Badarpur-Faridabad Metro Line of Delhi Metro in the national capital. Modi himself travelled in the metro before the inauguration and interacted with the other passengers. It is expected that around two lakh people will travel between the two cities on daily basis. There are nine stations in this 13.875 km long section, which is an extension of Delhi Metro’s Violet Line, currently running from ITO to Badarpur. Prime Minister Modi also addressed a public meeting after the inauguration. Made with a total cost Rs.2,500 crore, the extension of Delhi Metro will not only meet the long pending demand of about two lakh people commuting between Delhi and Faridabad every day, but will also make the travelling easy and will save a lot of time and money. Once fully operational between Kashmere Gate and Escorts Mujesar, the Line 6 of the Delhi Metro will span a length of 43.4 kilometres. The new route will be thrown open for the public at 4 in the evening.
