New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India and Africa are ‘made for each other’ as both have similar strengths which can help in development process. India is hosting its biggest-ever Africa summit this week as Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeks to challenge China’s dominance on a continent that is blessed with vast natural resources and has the world’s fastest-growing population. Modi held one-on-one 19 bilateral meetings with heads of different African nations. In all the meeting the main agenda was about the United Nations Security Council. More than 40 African heads of state and government have arrived in India a full summit scheduled for Thursday (October 29). New Delhi wants to project its soft power and historical ties to Africa, in contrast to China’s focus on resource extraction and capital investment that has sparked a backlash in some countries against Beijing’s mercantilist expansion.
