Soldiers in Colombia’s air force rescued two Polish tourists lost in its lush Amazon region on Wednesday (December 23), officials reported.

Video released by the air force showed soldiers dropping a line from a helicopter and hoisting the lost tourists to safety.

According to reports, the Polish citizens, identified as Tominik Szzepanski and Masiej Tarasin, were reported missing as they were hiking in the Sierra de Chiribiquete in western Colombia.

The pair were located by the country’s Air Force after an aerial surveillance of the site.

The Polish citizens are reported to be in good condition but one hiker was treated at the scene for a snake bite.

The tourists were later transported to Bogota on a plane where they are to receive a medical check up.
