Pop star Kesha releases her first new music in three years after losing a legal battle to scrap her recording contract with Sony Music and producer Dr. Luke. Rollo Ross reports.

Pop star Kesha releases first single after label dispute

Pop star Kesha has released her first new music in three years after losing a legal battle to scrap her recording contract with Sony Music and producer Dr. Luke, whom she has accused of sexual assault.

The single “True Colors” was released through the singer’s label RCA Records, a unit of Sony Music Entertainment, and Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records, to which Kesha is still signed to.

She took to Twitter to annouce that “#truecolors spoke to me so deeply I had to spread the beautiful message of personal empowerment.”

“True Colors” is already at number eight in the iTunes US top-selling songs chart.
