Pope Francis headed to Washington’s Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle on Wednesday (September 23) to pray with religious leaders and deliver an address, after a string of secular events.
Earlier, the pontiff met with U.S. President Barack Obama earlier in the and then paraded through the streets to bless and throw kisses to adoring crowds.
Later, he was expected to celebrate mass at the Vatican diplomatic mission in Washington.
