“I am six months and two weeks pregnant. They have done the scans and told me that he will be born on the 9th of December, and I am very content, happy.”

After 19 years in the guerrilla movement, 36 year old Tatiana has hopes for a sense of normalcy for her life and her child.

“This is my second child, and I hope things are more comfortable with this child, things have been filled with much more joy. The bourgeoisie have not been getting in the way with their bombs, shooting, kidnappings, things are calmer now.”

Her partner Omar says they are also prepared if things do not work out.

“If the government does not hold its part of the deal and we have to leave our son (to go to war) then we will leave him with someone responsible who can bring him up. If we have to, we will leave him, as Che Guevara did, he had three children and a wife and he left.”

The conclusions of the so-called tenth conference will be announced on September 23 — that will be followed by the signing of the peace agreement September 26th and a public vote on October 2.
