Protests erupt in PoK as Islamabad continues to wage water war in region

Sharing is Caring

PoK, Sep 18: Massive demonstrations were carried out in the Muzaffarabad city of the illegally occupied region of Pakistan against the establishment’s complicity in destroying the natural habitat, wildlife and essentially the life and livelihood of the common people of the region. Islamabad, which has been misruling the region for more than seven decades, is now depriving the people of Muzaffarabad of their water lifeline – Neelum River – through an elaborate scheme which has changed the flow of the fresh water from the mountains to Punjab province — the country’s pampered and favoured province. A massive water crisis has built up of late, which has forced the people to either live in uninhabitable conditions or move to other places.
