Rain throws normal life out of gear in Nepal’s Eastern Saptari District

Saptari District (Nepal), July 8 (ANI): Normal life in the eastern district of Nepal’s Saptari District has crippled because of the excessive rain that has led to floods. The incessant rainfall, which started in the last week of June, has submerged over 1,000 houses in various Village Committees and Municipalities of Saptari District. The Khado, Jita, Balan, Mahuli, Dudhaila Rivers has entered into the residential areas of Rajbiraj. The rainfall in weeks has waterlogged the area with the water level up to four feet. Excessive rainfall has led to shutting down of educational institutions for a week now.
With more rain expected in the coming days, the residents living near rivers are moving to safer places.
