Post Baahubali everything has changed for SS Rajamouli. The Telugu director has become a national figure, and his magnum opus is one of the talking point of the country. Now, the filmmaker has also got the recognition of the Indian Government. It is now officially announced that SS Rajamouli will be awarded with the fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri. The director has won the prestigious award for his contribution to the field of arts. Apart from Baahubali, The director has also made many blockbusters like Magadheera and Eega.
On Sunday, Rajamouli was awarded Best Director Award for Baahubali at IIFA Utsavam 2016. The epic-war drama also won 5 other awards under various categories- Best Supporting Actor Male, Best Supporting Actor Female and Best Male Singer. He is currently busy shooting for his sequel of Baahubali. The film is expected to hit the screens by the end of 2016. Rana Daggubati, who played antagonist in Baahubali, took to Twitter to congratulate his director.
