Reactions flow in after PM Bhargava returns awards to protest against growing intolerance

New Delhi/Chennai, Oct 29 (ANI): Reactions flowed in on Thursday after veteran scientist P.M. Bhargava said the he would return Padma Bhushan award conferred on him by the central government as a mark of protest against religious autocracy and growing intolerance in the country. Eighty-seven year old Bhargava, the founding member of Centre of Cellular and Molecular Biology, would return his Padma Bhushan award to Home Secretary and urged young scientists to come forward and protest. Bhargava’s decision comes at a time when dozens of celebrated writers in the country have given up their awards protesting attacks on writers and minorities in the country.
