Lakhimpur (Assam), Sep 24 (ANI): Lakhimpur in Assam got a taste of tribal art and culture as the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture organised Adi Vimba, a festival which garnered much attention of the locals. The three-day extravaganza, which was held in the auditorium of the district library served as a platform to promote the rich culture and tradition of the state’s tribal communities. On the first day of the festival, different ethnic communities of the state showcased their dance forms. Cultural troupes representing the Kom tribe of Manipur and the Reangs of Tripura also participated in the event. The festival also featured an exhibition on the tribal arts of Assam. A number of seminars and a tribal haat for artisans to showcase their ethnic craft were also part of the event.
