Surrendered militant leads normal life as special police officer in Kashmir post rehabilitation

Poonch, Oct 30 (ANI): A former militant in Jammu and Kashmir today leads a normal life working as special police officer after he surrendered before the Indian government. Noor Ahmed surrendered before police in 2003 after he fled from a militant camp. Ahmed was abducted by the militants and taken across the Indian border when he was a kid. Today he works as a special police officer in Surankote region of Poonch district. In 2005, Ahmed got married to a local girl and has four children. Additional Superintendent of Police of Poonch district, Amit Kumar Gupta said it is important to bring former militants into the mainstream.
