Swamy questions Rahul’s participation in hunger strike

Sharing is Caring

Kochi, Jan 30 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Saturday questioned Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s participation in a mass hunger strike on the University of Hyderabad campus with students who are protesting against the suicide of Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula. Swami sought to know, “Why he (Rahul Gandhi) is joining the protest, is he an educationist? Why should he enter into this and complicate the matter? Without an inquiry and getting the truth of it, what is the use of him joining the protest?” He added that the issue was very complicated, because it was not known what the suicide note was actually meant for. Swamy asked the Congress vice-president that why he was not going to Verupuram near Chennai, where students were reduced to servants that led to their suicide.
