New Delhi/J&K/Patna, Oct 31 (ANI): Thousands of people across India took part in ‘Run for Unity’ on Tuesday to commemorate the 142nd birth anniversary of freedom fighter and lawmaker Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Of the several runs organised across India, Modi flagged off a 1.5 kilometer run from New Delhi’s Dhyan Chand Stadium. The marathon was organised to commemorate the 142nd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, also known as the architect of modern India. Patel’s birth anniversary is observed as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ or National Unity Day across the country. Meanwhile, hundreds of participants from across the country took part in the run to spread the message of unity. Gymnast Dipa Karmakar, cricketer Suresh Raina, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, hockey player Sardara Singh and weightlifter Karnam Malleswari were also took part in the event.
