Tranvestites take to the red carpet for ‘Rocky Horror’ 40th birthday bash

Transvestites sashay down the red carpet along with stars from ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the cult classic.

It’s a 40th birthday bash that would be somewhat incomplete without corsets, stockings… and plenty of transvestites.

Four decades after the ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ first revealed itself to the world,

Stars and fans of the cult clasic got fabulous to celebrate with a special screening at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

The 1975 comedy horror stars Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon as sweethearts Brad and Janet, who find themselves in a castle run by transvestite Frank N Furter, played by Tim Curry.

Nearly half a century on, what is the secret to its enduring appeal?

The film has built up a cult following over the decades, with audiences dressing up as the characters.

“I would say I am a fan of “The Rocky Horror Show”. Mainly because it just gives me the chance to get away from the straight-laced running a warehouse and do something slightly outrageous.”

“I think it gets better with each year, it just gets better, more people discover it for the first time and things like that, it just keeps getting better, you can’t not love it, the songs, everything.”

It looks like ‘Rocky Horror’ will be doing the Time Warp again, and again, and again.
