Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davotoglu pledges to catch the killers of a prominent Kurdish lawyer whose death has sparked protests. Paul Chapman reports.

Turkish police security camera footage shows the moment Kurdish lawyer Tahir Elci was killed.

The video appears to show police officers running towards a taxi, gunmen opening fire from inside the vehicle, then running away.

Two people are left lying on the ground – police said one officer was killed and another wounded.

The killing in Diyarbakir has unleashed a wave of protests.

Riot police in Diyarbakir used water cannon to disperse demonstrators there.

In the capital, Ankara, hundreds of lawyers also took to the streets in protest.

The Turkish prime minister’s vowing the killers will be caught.

Elci had been due to stand trial for saying the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party was not a terrorist organisation.
