Two senior militants involved in tribal massacre in Assam arrested
Chirang, Sep 11 (ANI): Two senior militant rebels involved in last year’s tribal massacre were arrested from two separate locations in Assam. The operatives of banned militant outfit National Democratic Front Bodoland (Songbijit) (NDFB-S) have confessed to playing a part in the killing of at least 80 tribals in the state last December, said police. Police nabbed the militants following a tip-off. Huge cache of ammunition including 36 grenades was recovered from them. Militants fighting for a separate homeland for indigenous Bodo tribesmen went on a killing spree in Assam, killing at least 80 people, the deadliest violence in years.
