UDMF signals red to government’s proposal to hold election before amendment
Kathmandu, Jan 25 (ANI): The United Madhesi Democratic Front, alliance of disgruntled Madhesh based parties has rejected the government proposal to hold local elections prior to amendment. The meeting which continued for about 5 hours in PM’s residence, Baluwatar on Tuesday evening failed to get the support of UDMF leaders over its proposal to hold the election before the amendment. The government of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prachanda filed the amendment proposal in the parliament last year and is on continued talks with disgruntled parties. The government who is in intense pressure to hold local elections has the deadline till January 21, 2018to hold three tire elections – local, provincial and parliamentary, constitutionally.
